There are no market hours, only busy and quiet ones#
The best time to trade memecoins is the window where your own results are best, not a fixed hour. Memecoins trade on-chain 24/7, with no open, close or weekend. One published snapshot showed pump.fun launches clustering around 15:00–22:00 UTC, but busier hours also bring more junk and more competition.
What changes through the day is how many people are trading: how many coins are launched, how much volume reaches each one, and how many buyers there are to sell to. Those swings are real, and they shift where the opportunities and the costs are.
What can launch data tell you, and what can't it?
Hourly patterns in launch counts can be measured. Whether a given hour is more profitable for you cannot be read from launch counts; it depends on your strategy, your size and your competition.
Most "best hours" claims online skip that distinction.
What one hourly snapshot shows#
The clearest published hourly breakdown we found is an example in Bitquery's documentation that charts new pump.fun tokens per hour over a 36-hour window, dated 23 April 2026.
It reported an average of 2,108 new tokens per hour on the full day measured, and described launches as clustering around 15:00–22:00 UTC and tailing off through the Asian overnight (Bitquery, pump.fun launch pulse).
| Location | Local window |
|---|---|
| New York (EDT, UTC−4) | 11:00–18:00 |
| London (BST, UTC+1) | 16:00–23:00 |
| Berlin (CEST, UTC+2) | 17:00–00:00 |
| Singapore (UTC+8) | 23:00–06:00 |
Treat this as one snapshot, not a law. It measures launches, not profitable trades, and it covers a day and a half.
Patterns move with news, with which communities are active, and with the overall state of the market. Use it as a hypothesis to check against your own data.
Why the busiest hours are not automatically the best#
More activity cuts both ways for a trader. It helps in some ways and hurts in others, and which side wins depends on how you trade.
| Busy hours | Quiet hours | |
|---|---|---|
| Coins launched | More, and more of them junk | Fewer, easier to review each one |
| Buyers to sell to | More, so exits are easier | Fewer, so a coin can stall with you in it |
| Competition for the same entries | Higher, including bots | Lower |
| Priority fees to land fast | Typically higher when the network is busy | Typically lower |
| Attention per coin | Spread thinner across many launches | Concentrated on fewer coins |

A fast early-curve scalper may prefer busy hours for the exits. A trader who reviews every coin carefully may do better when there are fewer to review. Neither is a universal answer, which is why the useful number is your own.
Is it worth trading memecoins at quiet hours?
It can be, but quiet hours have their own trap: fewer buyers means a coin you enter can simply stop. On a thin curve with little activity, your own buy can be most of the recent volume, so the chart moves because of you and then has no one to sell to.
If you trade quiet hours, size down further: the exit is the scarce resource, and your sell will push the price harder when there are fewer bids. The sell-side numbers are in when to sell a memecoin.
Does news matter more than the time of day?
Usually. Any hourly pattern can be overridden in minutes by a large move in SOL, a viral post or a high-profile launch. On those days the busy window can start at any hour and end just as abruptly.
A schedule is a default for planning your sessions, not a reason to ignore what the market is doing right now.
How to find your own best hours#
- 1
Tag every trade with its UTC hour
Use UTC, not local time, so daylight saving changes do not split your data. Add the hour as a column in your journal.
- 2
Count the market too, for a week
Once an hour, note how many new coins appeared on your terminal's new-pairs feed in the last ten minutes, and how many graduated. Ten seconds of counting gives you your own launch curve.
- 3
After 50 trades, group results by hour block
Use four-hour blocks so each one has enough trades. Compare average result after costs, not win rate alone.
- 4
Check your own state, not just the market's
Late-night trades and trades after a losing streak often look worse for reasons unrelated to the market. If one block is bad, ask whether the market or you was the problem.
- 5
Trade your best block on purpose
Concentrate your sessions where your own numbers are best, and treat the rest of the day as research time.
This works better than any published schedule because it measures the thing that matters: how your strategy performs at your size. If you do not have a written strategy yet, start with memecoin trading strategy or how to trade memecoins.
The hour that matters on a Fullport account: 00:00 UTC#
On a Fullport account one moment of the day has mechanical consequences: the 00:00 UTC day close. That is 8 pm in New York in summer and 7 pm in winter, and it is easy to trade straight through it without noticing.
- The floor only moves then. The 4% max-drawdown floor rises only when a UTC day closes at a new realized high, never intraday. A profit realized at 23:59 UTC counts toward that day's close; at 00:01 it counts toward the next. See max drawdown.
- Consistency is counted per UTC day. During the evaluation no single UTC day may make up more than 55% of your total profit when you pass. A session that straddles midnight UTC splits its profit across two days. See consistency.
- Payout timing uses days, not hours. Funded payout windows open every 5 days; the hour you trade does not change that.
If you trade in the evening in the Americas, put 00:00 UTC on your screen. The browser terminal and Fullport Tap both show the same account, so the same clock applies wherever you place the order.
If you already trade from Axiom, GMGN or pump.fun, Tap lets you trade the same coins in your best hours with a simulated funded account and keep 80% of payouts if you pass. For what to do once you are in a trade, read when to sell a memecoin.
Quick answers
- What are the best hours to trade meme coins?
- There is no fixed answer. One published 36-hour snapshot of pump.fun launches in April 2026 showed them clustering around 15:00 to 22:00 UTC. Busier hours bring more buyers but more junk and competition, so your own results by hour are the better guide.
- Do memecoins have trading hours?
- No. Memecoins trade on-chain 24 hours a day, every day, with no open, close or weekend. Activity rises and falls through the day, which changes how many coins launch, how much volume they get and how easy it is to exit.
- When is the best time to buy meme coins?
- When your written entry trigger appears on a coin that passes your safety checks, at a size the coin's liquidity can absorb. Time of day matters less than that. Track your own results by UTC hour to see whether any window is consistently better for you.
- What time does the trading day reset on Fullport?
- At 00:00 UTC, which is 8 pm in New York during summer time and 7 pm in winter. The drawdown floor can only rise at that close, and the evaluation's 55% consistency rule counts profit per UTC calendar day.
